In July of 2003, Hilary Duff, came to visit famed wild horse sanctuary Return to Freedom and met Spirit the horse that inspired the Dreamworks animated film. Upon meeting him, Hilary became a little star struck herself. “I had to catch my breath when I saw him,” she said. “Oh my God, he’s like stunning.”
During her visit Return to Freedom, Hilary met with its founder, Neda DeMayo, and learned about the organization and how it rescues wild horses. When Neda asked Hilary to be Return to Freedom’s official Youth Ambassador, Hilary instantly agreed.
“I’m so honored,” Hilary said. “It’s so important to raise the awareness of other kids and that’s the best part of being in the position I’m in. I think it’s really important to give back to your community and it makes you feel so good to get involved with a charity. I look up to people who are involved with organizations that help people and animals.
“So when I first heard about Return to Freedom, and how civilization is closing in on the wild mustangs, I knew that I wanted to get involved with this cause. It is so great that the mustangs have the American Wild Horse Sanctuary at Return to Freedom to roam free on and to be wild. If their land and freedom is lost these wild horses are in real danger of becoming extinct and we must not let that happen. I hope that Return to Freedom will be able to get more land so that they can rescue and bring more horses to the sanctuary.”
Totally bullshit. I call tht. After all she’s rich now. A few thousand dollars are peanuts. She got her first million when she was like… 16? 15? Yes. Of course she’s honoured. Esp. when she is some not-so-good-hearted person and she’s involved in something so charity-like. Anyway. This is only for publicity. since so many ppl hate her!!
